Hi, I’m the proud Owner/Director of Academic Romper Room Child Development Center. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I moved to Texas in 2000. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Michigan State University. So how did I end up in child care? Well, I have worked with children for as long as I can remember. I come from a HUGE family. Although I’m the youngest sibling, I had lots of cousins to baby-sit. I was an attendant at the nursery in my church for numerous years. I was an Educational Program Coordinator in Lansing, MI for 3 years. I worked as a Preschool Teacher at Tot Town Child Development Center in Detroit, MI for 2 years. I’ve had other jobs that weren’t based around children; however, they didn’t seem as fulfilling. Suitable to say, “Ronda loves the kids!” I’m a TDFPS certified Director. I have a Child Development Associate (CDA). I increase my knowledge in Early Childhood by taking online courses and attending various workshops annually. I transitioned from, Ronda’s Romper Room, a Licensed Childcare Home to, Academic Romper Room, a Licensed Child Care Center in November 2009. Academic Romper Room is an Accredited center with Texas Rising Star. We are also Texas School Ready (TSR) certified. We also participate in the Center of Excellence Program in collaboration with the Workforce. I truly feel there is nothing more valuable than educating our children, because they are our future. We are breaking down barriers and the sky is the limit!
